Anyone using plastic pallet boxes for warehouse storage? Need some advice

So our logistics manager has been pushing us to move away from wooden pallets and cardboard boxes for our internal storage, and honestly I'm starting to see his point after the last shipment we received where half the cardboard was crushed and the wooden pallets were splintering everywhere. We're a small manufacturing outfit in Al Quoz and we deal with a lot of sensitive electronic components, so protection from dust and moisture is a big concern for us. I've been looking into plastic alternatives and a pallet plastic box seems like it could be a game-changer for our setup, especially since they seem to last for years and are apparently much more hygienic than wood . I'm particularly interested in the closed versions that are completely sealed to keep contaminants out, and the fact that they're waterproof and easy to clean makes them ideal for our dusty environment. Has anyone here made the switch from traditional packaging to these plastic pallet boxes? I'm curious about the actual cost savings over time because the initial investment is obviously higher than cardboard, but I've heard the total cost of ownership is actually lower since they're reusable and don't need replacing every few shipments. Also, how well do they handle stacking in a warehouse environment? Would really appreciate any practical insights from people who've actually used these in their operations before I try to convince the boss to approve the budget.
